Job Type: Fixed Term Contract between July 2024 – 10 September 2025, Part-time (3 days a week) 
Salary Range: £27,630 - £30,918 per annum (£46,050 - £51,530 FTE) inclusive of Inner London Weighting, dependent on skills and experience

We’re seeking a committed and experienced Production Manager to lead the technical planning and delivery of a new Barbican Immersive exhibition, opening in Summer 2025.

Barbican Immersive
Barbican Immersive create exhibitions and experiences that launch at the Barbican and then tour internationally. Their exhibition programme explores the key topics shaping society today, including artificial intelligence and the climate emergency. They produce exhibitions that use emerging technology and digital creativity to put the visitor at the centre of the experience. Previous exhibitions include Digital Revolution (2015), AI: More than Human (2019) and Our Time on Earth (2022).


The Role
The Production Manager will work closely with the Exhibition Manager, Exhibition Organiser and Head of Creative Programme, to deliver a large-scale Summer Exhibition to be held from May to August 2025. The role will take particular responsibility for the detailed project management of the construction phase of the exhibition as well as the procurement of hi-spec audio visual equipment, supported by an AV Consultant, ensuring both exhibition build and AV equipment are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard. The Production Manager will ensure the highest standard of practice is delivered in design, build, procurement, risk management, Health & Safety, and the care of artworks, whilst working closely with curatorial and external stakeholders.

You’ll have leading experience and knowledge of producing new exhibition build, multimedia commissions and art handling, including the installation of complex art works. With an ability to understand plans and technical specifications, you’ll be leading member of the team on issues relating to design and build. A broad understanding of new developments and best practice in the museum, gallery and immersive sector with regards to exhibition installation and design is expected, along with experience of Health & Safety at work in relation to risk management and CDM regulations
